Almost two years ago, we saw Miley Cyrus stroll down the red carpet at a celebration for the High School Musical DVD release and theater screening. Miley was not the center of attention with the paparazzi and screaming fans. In May of 2006 they only wanted the HSM stars.

Back then, Miley’s Hannah Montana series for the Disney Channel had just debuted, and Miley was only 13-years-old. Yet this sweet young lady showed the poise and confidence of a veteran star. She smiled and waved to the few in the crowd who recognized her, posed for a few pictures, and talked with me about how exciting it was just to be invited to the big event.

My goodness, how things have changed. She’s still ultra-sweet. But now at 15-years-old, Miley can boast of grabbing the spotlight at the same place in Hollywood, the historical El Capitan Theatre, where her Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert film premiered.

She gushed that she was so grateful for the throngs of screaming fans who were chanting her name. And she got a kick out of all the celebrity photographers who put on blonde wigs to pay tribute to her Hannah Montana rock star character.

“I am so blessed,” she beamed. “One of the greatest things I get to do is reaching out to the fans. It’s all because of them that the show is number one, the album is number one. So I really try to make sure that all the love comes back to the fans.”

Her Disney Channel TV show has made her a superstar in the music industry, with her concerts the hottest ticket across the U.S.

To satisfy the demand to see her sold-out show, Walt Disney Pictures created the Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert movie for a limited engagement. It was filmed in 3-D so her fans could experience the excitement of getting a front row seat.

Among those attending the Hollywood premiere were the Jonas Brothers– Nick, Joe and Kevin, who are billed as special guest in the movie. Plus Hannah Montana co-star Mitchel Musso, HSM’s Ashley Tisdale and it was also movie night for Heather Locklear and her pre-teen daughter. Of course her mom Tish and dad country music star Billy Ray Cyrus were there keeping an eye on their little girl.

“We’re a real close family. And once a year we go out for a movie night as a family,” Miley reveals. “My dad will only do one movie a year, because he hates sitting for so long. The last picture we enjoyed was Evan Almighty. It was really great and had a good message. Even my dad liked that one.”

Seeing Miley at the Hollywood events, it may seem that she is all grown up now, wearing more makeup, killer high-heels and designer outfits meant for someone much older than 15. But she says that’s part of being “a girly girl. I love playing dress up.” She indulges in getting eyelash extensions so she can look extra girly for special occasions. It’s all part of enjoying this moment in her life.

So where does she go from here? Miley says she’s happy just doing what she’s been doing. “I’m so lucky I get to do what I love. I love singing, and I love acting, so I don’t want to change anything. I’ve got a great family. I’ve got great friends. I’m just going to enjoy it all for now.”

Upcoming is season three of her Disney Channel series, which will follow the further adventures of her “average awkward high school girl by day, rock star by night” character. And there’s talk about a Hannah Montana feature film. With all of her success, Miley remains as nice as she was before becoming the hottest kid in Hollywood.
