We deserve this swinging celebration: Big Band Holiday at NoHo’s El Portal Dec. 18 & 19

A swinging Christmas celebration is coming! The Big Band Alumni are incredible musicians who played with the greatest Big Bands of all time, like Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Harry James, Stan Kenton, Woody Herman, Les Brown, etc., and they are still performing and keeping the beloved music alive. Their latest gig is the BIG BAND HOLIDAY at the historic El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood on Saturday, December 18 at 8 pm, and Sunday, December 19 at 2 pm.

Putting music lovers ‘in the mood,’ the incredible Big Band Alumni will be stompin’ at the El Portal for the first time. They will perform the original Big Band arrangements of holiday music classics, with 17 fabulous instrumentalists, featuring full sections of saxophones, trombones, trumpets, and a wailing rhythm section – live on the Debbie Reynolds MainStage. The band is lead by crooner Bill A. Jones (Glee), and features the lovely and elegant Nancy Osborne.
Not only have the artists played with the greatest Big Bands of the swing era, they have also worked with such legends as FRANK SINATRA, RAY CHARLES, ROD STEWART, ELVIS, and LADY GAGA – to name just a few. They are the best of the best. In past years the band played the Academy Award Governor’s Ball, The Reagan Library, and opened for TONY BENNETT at the Beverly Hilton. Vocalist Bill A. Jones was named one of LA’s Top Concert Artists in BroadwayWorld, and singer Nancy Osborne has Grammy nominated CDs to her credit.
