Grammy’s behind-the-scenes
Celebrities go wild over goodies backstages with distinctive assets

Music’s biggest night, the 52nd Grammy Awards is destine to hit an unparallel crescendo with two powerful performers singing with heart wrenching emotion. The classic “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” has r&b diva Mary J. Blige and opera’s Andrea Bocelli climaxing together vocally in front of a worldwide audience. The song is available for download at iTunes and all proceeds will benefit relief efforts in Haiti.

Only the 3-D Grammy tribute to Michael Jackson could surpass that moment, with Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion, Smokey Robinson and Usher honoring the late great King of Pop.

The rest of the Grammy acts are equally worthy of shining in the spotlight with the Black Eyed Peas (Fergie always a standout), Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, the Dave Matthews Band, Green Day, Lady Antebellum, Lady Gaga, Maxwell, P!nk, and the Zac Brown Band rocking the house.

There’s been a lot of buzz about Grammy nominees Jamie Foxx and T-Pain performing with Slash and Doug E. Fresh, plus nominees Eninem, Drake and Lil Wayne doing a special performance with Travis Barker. Remember, it’s not hype if you deliver the goods.

Familiar faces among the presenters include pop music’s latest darling Justin Bieber, pop sensations the Jonas Brothers, pop princess Miley Cyrus, and pop music icon Beatle Ringo Starr.

Among the other stars handing out awards– Norah Jones, Ricky Martin, LL Cool J, Carlos Santana and Fergie’s honey of a husband Josh Duhamel.

Can you imagine all of them mixing it up backstage? Well, for the eleventh consecutive year the groundbreaking entertainment marketing company Distinctive Assets created a fabulous oasis for the performers to get together and enjoy those moments behind the scenes at the Grammys.

Distinctive Assets thrilled the music legends, such as Lionel Richie, who was one of the first Grammy alumni to visit the fabulous gift lounge set up at the VIP Artists Entrance at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. American Idol alumni Justin Guarini was also on the scene during rehearsals and enjoyed playing with the Gibson guitars backstage.

The gifting extravaganza had the music stars gushing over the product-filled gift boxes from presenting sponsor Moroccan oil (www.moroccanoil.com). A leader in hair care, Moroccanoil is a hit with the fabulous frizz-free Fergie. The Moroccanoil’s rep noted we can all become “Fergalicious!”

For the second year, Waste management sponsored a “green corner” within the lounge where they highlighted their new “Recycling Rocks” campaign. They gave a messenger bag made of recycled materials filled with eco-friendly goodies, which Heroes star Greg Grunberg loved.

Also featured in the lounge was the Harman/Kardon Go + Play High Performance and JBL On Stage IIIP Portable Loudspeaker Docks for iPod from Harman International. They made the place rock with all the Grammy nominated tunes, and the music stars loved it.

Of course memorable moments like these have to be captured, so Vivitar cameras were among the hottest must-haves, with the celebrities checking out the high-def all-weather digital video recorders and new ViviCam8027 camera.

Picture perfect smiles were seen everywhere, especially with the Icing 30 Carat Revolutionary At-Home Teeth Whitening System courtesy of Bling Dental (www.icingbybling.com).

Talent visiting the lounge were also treated to the stunning Nantucket Travel Bags from Cape Cod Leather (www.capecodleather.com), and rocker chic clothing and accessories from Royal Underground (www.royalunderground.net).

Spring 2010 designer sunglasses from Solstice Sunglass Boutique (www.solsticestores.com), the Reverse Flying V guitar from Gibson USA, LA Gear LA Lights sneakers, Misis sterling silver jewelry, Soy Delicious Moisturizing Candles, Ciroc Vodka, and the gorgeous new Palm Pixi/Palm Pixi Plus (www.palm.com) were also exciting everyone.

Also, Lancer Dermatology products and services from Dr. Harold Lancer of Beverly Hills, Orgasense exclusive skincare and Agapara handbags from J. Holly International, rockstar accessories and cashmere sweaters from Hardcore Elegance (www.hardcoreelegance.com), and “Celebrate the Moment” Feline Lovers Gift packs from Fancy Feast. Plus the cool cats backstage also got VIP club cases of Hippie Chips from Rock-N-Roll Gourmet.

The lounge was designed by Pacific Events using Modern Studio Furnishings and floral creations from Tu Bloom Designs. It was a big “WOW,” along with being a cozy place you could sip your fresh brewed Marley Coffee with the stars.

“Of all the award shows in which we’ve been involved over the past 10 years, the Grammys remain my favorite,” says Lash Fary, founder of Distinctive Assets. “It’s truly the trifecta in our industry. The most talented artists, the best gifts and the most incredible production team. The experience is simply unparalleled.”

Yes, that was the 2010 Grammys!
