Sharon Stone leads lovely Hollywood Bag Ladies at Lupus LA lunch

Sharon Stone is a great gal who is very honest and has a wicked sense of humor, as she flaunted at this year’s Hollywood Bag Ladies Luncheon for Lupus LA.

As the fun-loving Stone took the stage to welcome all the “ladies who lunch for a good cause,” she quipped that her intro music “had a kind of strange stripper quality to it, like the kind from Magic Mike.” She referred to the movie about sexy male dancers/strippers, and reported that she had watched it “to find the artistic, cinematic value in it.”

Stone especially gushed about watching Channing Tatum’s hip-thrusting dance number “several times, just to make sure it was good. And it was!” The sophisticated crowd at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel roared with delight.

Looking like the femme fatale she is, the Basic Instinct star attended with her mother Dorothy, and sister Kelly who has Lupus. That is why Sharon has embraced the cause to help raise funds for research. She has attended many of the Lupus LA events over the years, and this was the 10th annual luncheon featuring a silent auction of handbags donated by celebrities and top designers such as Fendi, Prada and Versace.

Among the celebrities on hand who donated bags and/or participated in the spirited bidding to win the coveted purses were Shirley Jones, Kellie Martin, Charlotte Ross, Angie Everhart, Danica McKellar, Meredith Monroe, Essence Atkins, LisaRaye McCoy, Shari Belefonte, Marla Gibbs, Phill Lewis, Brittny Gastineau, the ultra-funny Lisa Ann Walter, and the doctor who has done so much in the field of the autoimmune disease, Daniel Wallace, M.D.

The 10th anniversary of the Bag Ladies Luncheon, hosted by Adam Selkowitz chairman of Lupus LA, celebrated the honorees from the past ten years including Toni Braxton, Carrie Brillstein, Melissa Joan Hart, Rachel Zoe, Christine Devine, Carolyn Folks, Janice Arouh, Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey, Carol Weisman, Julia Van Hees-Aidner, LaDoris McClaney, and Marla and Nicole Paxson.

A highlight of the event was the live auction conducted by Sharon Stone, who displayed her formidable powers of persuasion, getting big bucks for one-of-a-kind items and experiences, such as a VIP Pass to New York Fashion Week.

The climax of the afternoon was the exquisite fashion show presenting the Kevan Hall Collection, featuring sensuous cocktail dresses and classic flowing gowns that made the audience of well-heeled ladies squeal with delight. Among Kevan Hall’s celebrated clientele are First Lady Michelle Obama, Celine Dion, Salma Hayek, Charlize Theron, and, of course, the always stunning Sharon Stone.
