Review: LOVE ACTUALLY LIVE the best ever at The Wallis in Beverly Hills

Christmas is all around thanks to LOVE ACTUALLY LIVE, a stage musical that blends the greatly cherished film with live performances. It has been produced by For the Record for several years to the delight of audiences, and this is arguably the best incarnation that has ever been presented at The Wallis.

If you want to witness the pure magic of the amalgamation of theatre and cinema go to The Wallis Theatre in Beverly Hills for LOVE ACTUALLY LIVE. Back by popular demand it has become a not-to-be missed Los Angeles holiday tradition. The multimedia concert celebrates the beloved holiday film Love Actually in a year that promises, finally, joyful holiday reunions and connections that are at the heart of the movie.

Iconic scenes are displayed on screens that travel throughout the impressive set and share the stage with an all-star cast of singers and live orchestra. The stars are: Tomasina Abate, JJ Barton, James Byous, Gabriela Carrillo, Anthony Fedorov, Parissa Koo, Conor Jack Kowalski, Doug Kreeger, Aaron Lazar, Michael Thomas Grant, Emily Lopez, Brian McKnight Jr., Darrell Morris Jr., Nina Nelson, Zola Odessa, Sofie Poliakoff, Sha’Leah Nikole Stubblefield, Ian Ward, Cheyenne Wells, and Rex Smith returning to rock the role as Billy Mack. They reimagine the film’s hit soundtrack including “Christmas is All Around,” “Trouble With Love,” “Both Sides Now,” and so much more.

The outgoing Artistic Director at The Wallis, Paul Crewes said the show is very relevant and poignant this year, especially for him. “Collaborating with our friends from For the Record, to create LOVE ACTUALLY LIVE, is as always, a joyful experience. We tell our story through a combination of film exquisitely weaved with the score, created and performed by the amazing talents of our actors, musicians, production and creative teams. To finish my tenure at The Wallis with this record-breaking production feels perfect.”

LOVE ACTUALLY LIVE runs Nov. 27 to Dec. 31, 2021 in the Bram Goldsmith Theater at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts located at 9390 N. Santa Monica Blvd. in Beverly Hills.
