Santa’s Annual Wish List

Santa spends most of the year scanning the horizon for the coolest items. He is known for suggesting some great gifts.

Here are the gifts Santa is hoping HE will get this year.

HYPERJUICE

Even Santa has succumbed to mobile devices to increase his efficiency. Invariably, with Santa’s strong work ethic, he is constantly needing to recharge, and HyperJuice is the ideal solution. The HyperJuice 15,000mAh battery with built-in 18W Lightning/USB-C cables charges Santa’s iPhone at the fastest possible speed, from empty to 50% charge in under 30 minutes. Santa knows from decades of experience that batteries on Christmas morning are required to keep kids satisfied, but parents need juice too!

TALIA DI NAPOLI – THE SLEEPING PIZZA

Whenever Santa tours Italy, he marvels at the depth and breadth of pizza on offer. He tries to bring some home to Mrs. Claus, but it just doesn’t travel well, even at the high altitudes to which Santa is accustomed. Fortunately, folks in Ft. Lee NJ have found a way to ship real Italian pizza directly to folks. With a mission that includes the perfect mantra (“Life is too short to eat bad pizza”), the folks at Tali di Napoli offer a great selection of pizzas. Santa and his elves raised their eyebrows in delight and overcame their skepticism as they bit into the tasty pies. The pizzas are fresh, baked-in-Naples pizza that are handmade by master pizzaiolos, delivered flash-frozen, and ready in minutes. Santa is hoping to find a few bites near the chimney when he arrives at your house.

VESPA STYLE & PASSION

When Santa isn’t visiting Italy via sleigh, he enjoys getting around on the country’s favorite two wheeled vehicles. That’s what he looks like, above. This luxurious book tells how the Vespa scooter evolved in the last 75 years into a marque that has sold over 19 million units on six continents. It will be weighing down Santa’s bag of gifts; lots of people have it on their list. A rich selection of visuals includes dozens of studio images of the most significant models as well as period advertisements, rare archival photographs, and images of Vespas in popular culture and motorsport. Santa often has classic rock playing, and The Who is on heavy rotation. Hence, Santa really likes the section of the book on Mod culture, which is perhaps most responsible for spreading scooter culture. Santa admits drooling over the images of customized Vespas.

HARING-SIMS

From big luxurious coffee table books about motor scooters to tiny hardcover books, Santa loves books. This five inch square book from Princeton University Press is packed with quotes from the innovative artist Keith Haring. The size is perfectly designed for stuffing stockings. Gathered from Haring’s journals and interviews, these lively quotes reveal his influences and thoughts on a variety of topics, including birth and death, possibility and uncertainty, and difference and conformity. It is a great book to read a few random pages; each time Santa picks it up he encounters gems such as:

  • “Art lives through the imaginations of the people who are seeing it. Without that contact, there is no art.”

  •  “Art is one of the last areas that is totally within the realm of the human individual and can’t be copied or done better by a machine.”

  •  “No matter how long you work, it’s always going to end sometime. And there’s always going to be things left undone.”

The Kinks – Lola versus Powerman and The Moneygoround, Part One

Because of Santa’s affinity for English bands and analog media, this 3 CD box set is a luxurious collection. Santa has always been bummed that the band was unable to leverage its early growth as part of the British Invasion (due to mysterious music union decrees banning them from America). Over the years, however, the band fronted by Ray Davies has continued to grow in stature…and that makes Santa happy. Upon its original release, this was the band’s eighth studio album, recorded and released in 1970. A concept album, it is a satirical appraisal of the music industry, including song publishers, unions, the press, accountants, business managers, and life on the road. Although it appeared during a transitional period for the Kinks, “Lola Versus Powerman” was a success both critically and commercially for the group, charting in the Top 40 in America and helping restore them in the public eye, making it a “comeback” album. This generous collection gathers up various odds ‘n sods that will appeal to the new fan and answer questions for those longing to dive into the rabbit hole. The Q+A between Ray and brother Dave is droll, and much like being down the pub with the lads and a few pints. The big boss single ‘Lola’ allegedly details a romantic encounter between a young man and a possible trans-gender person whom he meets in a club in Soho, London. (Available December 18).

GATOR GOLF

Santa admits to a penchant for miniature golf, and with his youngest fans Gator Golf lets him play anywhere. We grab our flamingo golf clubs and aim to feed this hungry little Gator. We sink putts by hitting our ball through the Gator’s mouth into his tail to score. Watch out – he’ll flick your ball with his tail for more putting action.

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Exfoliating Body Treatment

Santa often faces challenging environments when he makes his rounds. Sometimes dry and cold, other times warm and humid. To keep his skin glowing in a natural way (and not like he is portrayed in classic imagery), Santa looks to Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Exfoliating Body Treatment. The all-over body towel is packed with Alpha Beta acids, enzymes, and bakuchiol to exfoliate the outer layer of dead skin while also delivering long-lasting hydration and diminishing ingrown hairs,  blemishes/breakouts, evening hyperpigmentation, crepey skin and KP. The products Dr. Gross has introduced have been used by Yolonda Frederick, a Hollywood award-winning celebrity makeup artist and skincare expert. She refined her craft at Aveda as a Senior Master Make-up Artist and Show Teammate with Van Michael Salons for over 7 years. Her freelance career exploded into the scene as Key Makeup Artist to the Grammy Award-winning Trio TLC! From there, she blazed the industry with Usher, Ciara, Jennifer Hudson, Harrison Ford, Ludacris, Melissa Etheridge, Cassie and many more. Santa finds that a pretty good resume, and he likes the result.

THE BACK THING

Sitting as long as he must in reviewing lists and product specifications, Santa welcomes anything that alleviates back pain. He has enjoyed a standing desk for a few years, but this clever addition to his desk chair lets him fly his desk longer, smoother and faster. He will likely use it on his midnight run the night before Christmas. If you get it under the tree, just place it on your chair and enjoy great back support.

NECK HAMMOCK

After a long day coordinating the elves and tending to Santa’s foibles, Mrs. Claus has been known to suffer in silence with back and neck strain. When Santa finally is astute enough to notice, Mrs. Claus relates her maladies. Regardless of the depth and effort of Santa’s ministrations, sometimes some simple technology is called for. Fortunately, the simple physics deployed by Neck Pillow have eased all the tension around the North Pole. Mrs. Claus can quickly set it up, using a door handle. She gets a controlled stretch, helping with improved posture, increased circulation, and fewer pinched nerves. The clever design pulls the tension out of the tight, inflamed muscles in her neck while she gets a nice rest. Santa has been known to seek similar relief when the strain of monitoring to do lists becomes too much. Science!
