Caucus For Producers, Writers & Directors … Greta – Queen of Beverly Hills … Women of Action Luncheon

Caucus for Producers, Writers & Directors

Stephen J. Cannell, best selling author of fifteen novels and writer/producer of such famed series as The Rockford Files, The A-Team, and Wiseguy to name a few, was named Producer of the Year at the Caucus for Producers, Writers and Directors at the Beverly Hills Hotel. This organization, founded 35 years ago by Producers Chuck Fries and Jerry Isenberg, provides grants to aspiring filmmakers, and provides mentorship to creative young students.

Cannell looked mighty handsome in his black & purple ensemble, when he received his award from actress Lea Thompson (Caroline in the City) – but he had major competition with sexy David Hasselhoff, who was the host of the evening.  Despite his recent problems with alcoholic addiction, he was in fine form that evening, and handled his duties with charm and aplomb. Did you know that he is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as “The Most Watched TV Star in the World” thanks to starring roles in Knight Rider and Baywatch.  But, as David says, “My current work as a Judge on America’s Got Talent has given me more exposure world-wide than I have ever received.”

Another handsome hunk in attendance was Lorenzo Lamas, who was born into Show-Biz royalty.  His Mother is the still ravishing red-head Arlene Dahl, and his late father; Fernando Lamas was one of the most gorgeous men in movies. Lorenzo, who is known for his roles in Falcon Crest and Renegade is now starring in his own Reality Show – Leave It to Lamas – which features his own crop of good looking (but thoroughly mixed-up) kiddies. Whatever happened to Leave It to Beaver?

GRETA – Queen of Beverly Hills

In these troubled times, how rare it is for a retailer to be in business for over 48 years in Beverly Hills!  Several hundred Hollywood stars, fashionistas, philanthropists and civic leaders (dressed to the nines) were on hand to honor Greta at her Beverly Drive Salon, which offers luxury fashion at reasonable prices.   Among these were Mayor Nancy Krasna, Jason Whitley (MTV’s House of Style) and gorgeous Chelsea Gilligan, former Miss California Teen USA.  This supermodel in the making is only 18 years old, and already has become the favorite model for Ed Hardy, Skechers and Kohls, to name a few.  Chelsea gives a lot of her time to charities, and her manager, Roger Neal, believes she has a great career ahead in TV and film.
