New England-style Clam Bake

Five Crowns will hold a New England-style Clam Bake starting at 7 p.m., Thursday, October 2.  Reservations will be taken for family-style seating at the event priced at $79 each, inclusive of tax and tip. 

The menu will begin with New England Clam Chowder in a bread bowl.  Entrées include a Whole Maine Lobster on a bed of seaweed and a Steamed Clam Sachet with drawn butter and lemon.  Each table will share the classic clam bake accompaniments served family-style:  Barbecued Chicken, Corn on the Cob, Parsley Red Potatoes, Boston Baked Beans, Corn Bread and Crusty French Rolls.  Maine Peanut Butter Pie for dessert will make the end-of-the-summer repast complete. 

They  have earned the Automobile Club of Southern California Four-Diamond Award, the Mobil Travel Guide Four-Star Award, and the DiRoNA Award, marking it as one of the distinguished restaurants of North America.  It has also received the Wine Spectator Grand Award, the Southern California Restaurant Writers’ Golden Sceptre Award, and the Golden Bacchus Award for its wine list.

The restaurant is a member of the Lawry’s family of fine-dining restaurants, which includes Lawry’s The Prime Rib with locations in Beverly Hills, Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, Tokyo, Singapore, Taipei, Hong Kong and Shanghai; and the Tam O’Shanter in Los Angeles.  Their quick-service concept, Lawry’s Carvery, opened at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa in 2003.  Another has opened at Westfield Century City Dining Terrace.

Fraiche’s “Insider’s Wine Class” 

Sommelier and Co-owner Thierry Perez invites Angelenos to take a behind the scenes look into the world of wine with an educational wine class Saturday, October 4th. Perez, along with a fellow industry professional, will lead a class designed to offer an insider’s look into the world of wine. The class will focus on wine varietals and cheeses of Burgundy, and will run from12:30 – 2:30 p.m. that day. In order to provide personalized attention, space is limited.
