Guillermo del Toro is one of the most inventive filmmakers of his generation. Among his internationally acclaimed films are Cronos, The Devil’s Backbone and Pan’s Labyrinth. He seems to have reinvented the genres of horror, fantasy and science fiction. You will have the opportunity to be “At Home With Monsters” at the LA County Museum of Art from August 1 — November 27th& explore his first museum retrospective. This diverge range of media — including sculptures, paintings ,photography, books & film totals over 500 objects, and reflects del Toro’s inspirations.

Being a horror aficionado myself (I was born on Halloween), I found del Toro’s life-long love affair with Dr. Frankenstein fascinating; and you must experience his “Rain Room” in Bleak House, which stimulates a perpetual thunderstorm. We are certain this exhibit will be packed prior to Oct. 31st, so hurry on down and be the first to experience this powerful presentation.

The Hollywood Palladium was the perfect venue for over 2,000 guests at the 16th Annual Maxim Hot 100 party, produced by Karma International. The event, hosted by Stella Maxwell, featured a performance by Iggy Azalea, a DJ set by Nick Cannon & a special performance by Red One. Featured were a behind the scenes fashion shoot with Pure Model Club, and some of the world’s most beautiful models.

Some of the glamorous guests included Model Chanel Iman, Mel B (America’s got Talent), Diddy, Russell Simmons, Randy Jackson, and Amber Rose, the sexiest bald babe, sporting a new blond wig! Others enjoying the Best damn Root Beer floats,& increasing their vitality (via Monster Energy) included recently divorced Dr. Paul Nassif (Botched) & gorgeous supermodels like Nicole Murphy, ex of Eddie Murphy), who despite bearing 5 kids, still has a body to die for.

A coming event you won’t want to miss is the Clayton Kershaw’s 4th Annual Ping Pong 4 Purpose Tournament to Honor Super Agent, Dennis Gilbert. This event, which takes place August 11th at Dodger Stadium, benefits Kershaw’s Challenge which encourages people to use their talents for the betterment of others. Will Ferrell co-hosts the jam-packed night, highlighting single elimination tournament, and will feature celeb and VIP ping pong enthusiasts enjoying food, beverages &music provided by Half the Animal. Those expected to attend include: George Lopez, Mario Lopez, Derek Hough, and Anthony Anderson. Many of Kerhaw’s Dodgers team mates, including Enrique Hernandez will be on hand to support the many charities helping those in need.
