Angels at Risk & Romance Oscar Suite

The serene ocean-view setting of Producer Jena & Michael King (Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy & Ophrah) estate was perfect for the second annual “Stand Up to Addiction in the Name of Prevention” fundraiser, which benefited Angels at Risk.  This non-profit organization highlights prevention education for drug and alcohol use, and abuse with teens and their families. Co-Founder Susie Spain states, “We believe when the issue of addiction is addressed in early life, the family’s future can be changed forever.”

X Factor finalist Chris Rene knocked out the audience with his authenticity and phenomenal voice.  Among those enjoying the specialties from celeb chefs like Stephanie Goldfarb, were Ted Danson, Mel Gibson, Ray Liotta and Robert Belushi.

The Kings were honored to support the works of Angels at Risk,” because more than ever, the world needs all of the children to find their way along life’s path.”

Café La Boheme, arguably the most romantic restaurant in Los Angeles, once again opened their Tuscan country villa doors to celebrate Valentines Day, and grab a sneak peek at what’s hot for the Oscar Red Carpet.  Former Oscar Winner, Michael Clarke Duncan said it all – “Such amazing gifts, delicious foods, wonderful ambiance and I’m running into so many of my friends!”  Oscar winner Lou Gossett Jr. added, “I’ve been to many gifting lounges, but nothing like this.  I feel so honored to have been invited.”

The highly coveted invitation-only event, sponsored by world-renown couture designer Sanaz Afsar for SAFIR, and produced by Doris Bergman in association with Michelle Lee Faulkner, indulged guests with an array of fashion, fabulous fragrance, sexy lingerie, couture handbags, gourmet cuisine, and much more.

In the spirit of giving back, guests brought new or slightly worn clothing to donate to Operation Dress up – a student run non-profit organization.  Joe Mantegna (Criminal Minds) showed up with a box-load of duds for donation to the charity.  Fellow Scorpio Joe is not only a great talent, but also a great humanitarian.

William & Elizabeth Shatner, who are regulars at this scintillating soirée, turned up before leaving for Broadway, where Bill opens his solo show at the Music Box Theater entitled “Shatner’s World – We just live in it.”  In honor of the occasion, SAFIR gifted Elizabeth with a stunning off-the shoulder blue/grey silk gown, embellished with Swarowski crystals!

Other gifts & services were provided by Lyon Fine Jewelry, Nu4-You Eye Makeup Fallout Protector, chapeaus designed by Baron Hats, and my favorite shower friend, Spongeables, without whom I never take a bubble bath!

Brava to the delicious cuisine, created by 5-star executive chef, Christine Banta. We celebrated New Years Eve at this exceptional eatery, and can only rave about their fabulous fare.
