Eddie Awards – Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation

Over 1,000 black tie attendees were on hand at the Beverly Hilton when the 6lst Annual ACE Eddie Awards were presented in 9 categories of film, TV, and documentaries.  Toy Story 3 (edited by Ken Schretzmann & Lee Unkrich, won for Best Animated Feature Film; and Exit Through the Gift Shop, won Best Edited Documentary.

Modern Family, Temple Grandin and The Walking Dead were among  the TV winners; and Alice In Wonderland, was selected Best Edited Feature Comedy or Musical Film.  Although The Social Network, did not come out first in the Academy Awards — editors Angus Wall and Kirk Baxter received kudos for Best Edited Feature Film.

Among the A-List presenters were Academy Award nominated actress from The Fighter, Amy Adams; Academy Award nominated director of The Fighter David O. Russell; True Blood star, Sam Tramel; and star of the upcoming Spiderman, Toby Maguire.

At another star-studded event ran into our pal, Leeza Gibbons, who hosted a Pre-Oscar Party to raise money for the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation.  Her mother suffered with Alzheimer’s disease, and she established Leeza’s Place for Caregivers — a community gathering place and resource center that provides free supportive services and programs for family caregivers. There are centers across the country, including two in Los Angeles — which we have visited, and were very impressed.

The event was held at BOA on Sunset, and attracted a slew of celebs including Diane Warren, Fran Drescher, Lance Bass and Mario Lopez.

Country music darling LeAnn Rimes entertained the troops, and Dancing With the Stars champ, Jennifer Grey, presented Jamie Lee Curtis with the Caring Award, for championing important causes.

And last, but not least, after visiting several swag suites, must compliment Roger & Lynn Neal for their Beauty Suite at the Ermitage Hotel.  Steven Tyler, Angela Bassett and Beverly Hills Housewives Star, Taylor Armstrong, all agreed that it was the friendliest, most comfortable pre-Oscar experience ever — not to mention the fabulous goodies we all received.

They even made me look fabulous for my trip down the red carpet at the Oscar parties — but that experience I will detail in my next Hollywood Beat column in Entertainment Today.
