We were pleased to attend the BritWeek red carpet launch at the British Consul General’s Residence, where such celebs as Lisa Vanderpump (Real Housewives of B.H.), dancing darling, Bruno Tonioli, Wayne Brady, Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter), Terry Seymour and James Bond cutie, Britt Ekland were among the celebrated guests.
The spacious garden area was gaily decorated as an Old English Estate, complete with live butterflies, frogs, and wandering minstrels strolling around, serenading the more than 100 gorgeous guests. Even musician Seal was munching on fantastic fish & chips; as well as actor Michael York and his photographer bride, Patricia McCallum.

The purpose of BritWeek is to highlight the creative fusion between the United Kingdom and California, and create a greater awareness of how closely the Brits work with us Yankees.
Since it was the 450th Anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth, the Bard was honored at various events, including a special evening of Shakespearean readings, sonnets and songs; and performances of King Lear, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Othello at various venues. Kudos to Jaguar Cars, Boots English Pharmacy, Virgin Atlantic, and all the other sponsors of this educational, enlightening and enjoyable BritWeek. Queen Elizabeth herself would have been very proud.

Singer, actor and humanitarian Pat Boone will celebrate his 80th Birthday on June 1st at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, with a Celebrity Roast. Some of the roasters and guests will include Co Hosts Larry King & Wink Martindale; Shirley Jones (who co-starred with Boone in April Love); Norm Crosby, Snoop Dog, Rich Little, Tommy Lasorda, George Foreman and Adam West (Batman), to name a few.
It wasn’t easy for the modest showman to take the spotlight for a big soiree like this (just for him), but it is also a fundraiser for Ryan’s Reach — a charity he established after his grandson Ryan’s traumatic injury in 2001.
