The Associates for Breast and Prostate Cancer Studios (ABCs) hosted its annual star-studded Mother’s Day Luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. Holly Robinson Peete and her mom, Dolores Robinson ,received the Mother and Daughter of the Year Award; and celebrated model Amber Valletta was honored with the Women of Achievement Award. Not to be left out – on the distaff side – actor/comedian Mike Epps was recipient of the Man of Achievement Award.

Mother of the year honoree Dolores Robinson, born in my home town, Philadelphia, formed her own management company, and worked with numerous clients including Levar Burton, Wesley Snipes, Pierce Brosnan and Martin Sheen. She became one of the industry’s most influential and successful managers, and she serves on the boards of the ACLU, and the Motion Picture & TV Fund to name a few.
Her gorgeous daughter, Holly Robinson Peete, is an actress, author, talk show host and philanthropist. She recently starred on the hit comedy series, Mike & Molly, after successfully launching the CBs daily talk show, The Talk, as one of the original co-hosts.
Among the causes she supports are Parkinson’s disease and autism; inspired by her eldest son’s diagnosis.
Super Model Amber Valletta
The ABC’s formed 25 year ago, supports a number of causes – including breast cancer and prostrate cancer. Since 1990 they have raised over $13 million for research and treatment at the John Wayne Cancer Institute. Kudos to Beverly Cohen and Sheri Rosenblum who chaired the event, and of course, Gloria Gebbia, President of this hard working and committed group of dedicated workers.
