Operation Smile & B.H. Theatre Guild

It was really something to smile about when Operation Smile Ambassadors Roma Downey (Touched By An Angel) and TV Producer Mark Burnett presented the Universal Smile Award to Dancing with the Stars co-host Brooke-Burke-Charvet and actor hubby David Charvet.  As a supporter and Smile Ambassador, and the Mom of 4, Brooke has raised funds and awareness for children in need worldwide She and her handsome husband (formerly star of Baywatch and Melrose Place) are committed to transform the lives of children and provide hope and a healthy future.

Access Hollywood Host Billy Bush served as MC for the show where singer Chris Mann and violinist Caitlin Moe performed.  But the show stopping moment occurred when it was announced that Julia Argyros and the Argyros Family Foundation would be donating $1 million to Operation Smile.  Something to smile about indeed!

Janet Salter, Ruth Flinkman-Marandy, Mary Levin Cutler and Carolyn Fried at B.H. Theatre Guild

We were invited to attend Sunday in the Park at the Four Seasons Hotel when Anne Jeffreys, Norm Crosby and James Jahant received the Spotlight Awards from the Beverly Hills Theatre Guild.  Carolyn Fried, President of the Guild, Board Chairman Janet Salter, and event Co-Chairs Mary Levin Cutler and Ruth Flinkman Marandy – all theatre lovers and tireless workers for the cause – are to be congratulated for their support of the B.H. Theatre Guild which was established in 1977 to enrich the theatrical experiences of the community.  The Guild financially supports after school programs offering children dramatic and musical experiences, and have funded awards to hundreds of writers through the Julie Harris Playwright Award Competition.

Kudos to the ageless Monty Hall who was Master of Ceremonies, and a sad farewell to Phyllis Diller whose humor and compassion were an inspiration to us all.
