Songs of our Lives and American Idol Partners with Heart Foundation

Burt Bacharach(What the World Needs Now), Sergio Mendes (The Fool on the Hill) and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds were among the musical giants who performed at The Songs of Our Lives — to benefit the Fulfillment Fund.  This benefit concert is the brain- child of award winning songwriter Charles Fox, and his wife, Joan, to support the Fulfillment Fund’s important work in our community.

For more than 35 years, this charity has  been dedicated to provide low-income students with support to graduate the from high school, earn a college degree, and become productive members of society.  Fox, who is a member of the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, and Governor of the Motion Picture Academy, was extremely grateful for the artist’s generosity, which helps so many needy young people.

Speaking of great performers, American Idol announced that they were joining partnership with The Heart Foundation, by donating $1 of each American Idol Tour 2012 ticket, to support heart disease research.

Ryan Seacrest made this announcement at the Heart Foundation Gala honoring Kimberly and P.K. Shah, MD at the Hollywood Palladium. The highly anticipated 45-city tour kicked off in July inDetroit, and we can’t wait to hear the final count for this “One For the Heart” campaign!

P.K. Shah is Director of Cardiology atCedarsSinaiMedicalCenter, and has spoken all over the world, is published globally, and has received numerous awards.  He and his wife, Kimberly, are well known philanthropists for cancer, diabetes research and children’s organizations.

Michael Buble was the featured performer at the event, with comedy provided by versatile Dana Garvey.

Some of the many celebs strolling the red carpet included Paul Stanley, Chelsea Handler, and Gavin Rossdale and his gorgeous blonde wife, Gwen Stefani, who confirmed that No Doubt is hard at work on their sixth album.  Although it has been 10 years since their last album, Stefani (always the perfectionist) stated:  “Anything worth waiting for takes a long time.”  The title of their new album, Push and Shove, is due for release on September 25th — No Doubt it will be another great success!
