Minus the Bear are hitting the road, and in the vein of Coalesce, Henry Rollins, and Defacto, have made a tour-only EP available. Beginning October 7th, ACOUSTICS will be sold digitally via online outlets such as iTunes, Amazon and Emusic.  Physical copies of the EP will be sold exclusively on the bands headlining tour beginning in Spokane, WA on October 8th. Offering up acoustic versions of material from Planet of Ice, Menos el Oso, and Highly Refined Pirates, and a new track “Guns and Ammo”, the group shows their diversity and uncanny ability to take delay-laden songs and transform them to acoustic-driven pop songs that can stand on their own merit. As with Interpretaciones del Oso, Minus the Bear have once again shown that they can tackle any genre successfully. One can attribute this to the widespread influences the band cites, and the varied bands that this group pulls from –  Guitarist Dave Knudson comes to the group from the hardcore band Botch (and guest performances with These Arms are Snakes), Erin Tate was once of the post-hardcore outfit Kill Sadie, and legendary producer Matt Bayles joined the group for a brief stint.  It’s uncertain if they’ll be taking the luddite route on the tour and performing any of the songs on this EP as they appear on the CD, but it would be a hoot. Either way, Minus the Bear are a talented group of lads and deserve your time and money; and by the groups extensive tour schedule, it’s safe to say they’re coming to your town.
