Vintage Adds Flair to Celebrity Lounge for MTV Movie Awards

Stars enjoy “Vintage Cinema” theme for Luxury Lifestyle GBK Lounge

There was a “Vintage Cinema” theme for the GBK luxury lifestyle gift lounge event held around the 2011 MTV Movie Awards celebrations. And the mini-reunion of Dancing With the Stars competitors loved the old school fair.

Newlywed Niecy Nash (wearing a “Just Married” tee, with hubby Jay Tucker by her side), was saying vintage styles are great for showing off your curves. “And if you’ve got curves, you should show them off,” the sweet lady insisted.

Another wonderful DWTS’ alumni Kyle Massey (That’s So Raven) attended with his handsome brother Chris Massey (Zoey 101), and both said they like to keep it casual. “But when the occasion calls for it, we can look like we just stepped off the cover of GQ,” Chris told me. I’ve seen the guys in classic white-tie and tails, and it’s true the super-hot brothers can capture the cool of the days of vintage cinema.

Someone no one ever expected to embrace vintage cinema is the wacky star of Jackass: The Movie, Steve-O who said when he was on DWTS he was happy to put on a film noir pinstripe suite and show a different side of himself. Steve-O was at the lounge showing off another side of him, an impressive self-portrait tattoo on his left forearm.

Also among the famous faces getting a warm welcome from host Gavin B. Keilly, were Lucas Grabeel, Frankie Muniz, Aubrey O’Day, Candace Cameron, Vincent Martella, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Bella Thorne, Melinda Clarke, Sasha Pieterse, Tyler Blackburn, Hope Dworaczyk, Ernie Hudson, Kimberly Elise, Tasha Smith, Edi Gathegi, and BooBoo Stewart with his stunning sister Fivel.

Also Flava Flav, and the Electric Barbarellas group attended. And Josh Sussman (wonderfully nerdy in Glee, and the Gleek DVD extras) with his hot actress girl friend Tess Hunt, were seen enjoying the array of innovative, unique and trendy gifts that filled the lounge.

Presenting sponsor, Hard Candy had celebrity makeup artists making sure “vintage cinema” glamour was on display. The glitzy cosmetic collection was a big hit with all the ladies, and some metrosexual guys.

More glam was provided by the vintage clothing line called Pinup Girl Clothing. It features styles for modern women who like to show off their curves (like Nicey) and channel the femme fatales of film noir.

Other sponsors included: Glimmer Body Art, which had lovely artists decorating the celebrities and VIP guests with the hottest trend in body art;

Donna Scott, the award winning medical skin care expert with Bellezza DermaCenter, was performing amazing signature Medical Grade Facials; Designer Skin featured professional indoor and sunless tanning products; MaximumLash, a high-performance lash conditioner; and Fine Featherheads featured hair extensions, which is a hot trend.

Salerm Cosmetics was on hand with their full range of hair care products and styling tools. They offer more wonderful custom colors, that give a vibrancy and strength for hair that is always red carpet ready.

SOHO Beauty Cases were given out to the celebrities. The cases were described as “a trendsetter’s tackle box to hold makeup, hair styling products, and the most coveted beauty essentials.” One of those essentials was Colgate-Palmolive’s new single-use Colgate Wisp Icy Bubble, that gives a burst of freshness, and a red carpet-ready smile.

New noteworthy fashion designs were from Admit To Bitter, a hoodie-tee specially designed to hold a CD of NYC music. And there was jewelry by Chelsea Taylor, and Fabrega Jewelry. But the big “wow” in jewelry was from Nanodots Magnetic Contructors, which allows you to create your own dazzling designs with awesome nano magnetic technology.

Caribbean Living Magazine, providing major stars with a one-week stay in the Caribbean. And Miss Malibu Erin White and Miss Malibu Teen Belle Owen were there to extend special VIP invites to the annual Miss Malibu Pageant on August 28.

It’s always nice to hear that GBK president Gavin Keilly donates proceeds from his events to worthwhile causes. The MTV Movie celebration lounge helped out the SoHo Project, Educating Young Minds, Mylife Mypower Inc., and the St. Bernard Project. All lend a helping hand to those in need, all the while having fun with the celebrities.
